Other Teaching Opportunities

Scholarly Inquiry and Research at Emory (SIRE) Graduate Fellowship

The SIRE program offers an opportunity for graduate students to serve as mentors for undergraduate students who are beginning to engage in research.

Problems and Research to Integrate Science and Mathematics (PRISM) Graduate Fellowship

The PRISM program offers annual fellowships to graduate students to develop and implement innovative science and math lessons using problem-based learning

HHMI Curriculum Development Graduate and Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Curriculum Development Fellowship provides incentives for graduate students and postdocs to join collaborative interdepartmental faculty teams in curriculum development. Team projects could include developing and co-teaching new courses (molecular modeling, bioinformatics), developing course materials (investigative cases, molecular models, lab units based on their own research, hypertext chapters for emerging disciplines, science career materials for our website), or developing and teaching workshops for middle and high school teachers in their specialty area.

Fellowships in Research and Science Teaching (FIRST) Postdoctoral Fellowship

The FIRST program provides postdocs with both research support and training in teaching methods that are useful to their career development. The program combines interdisciplinary research education that provides the foundation for investigating cellular and molecular mechanisms with a teaching mentorship that includes instruction in pedagogy, classroom technologies, mentorship of undergraduates, laddered teaching experience, course development, and production of web-based courses.
